If you are purchasing a new charger because your charger has melted, PLEASE READ THIS. If your battery is older than 1 1/2 to 3 years old, you also need to read this. The life of a battery is anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 years depending on usage. You need to be aware that if you have a battery that has an internal short, it may damage your charger.
If your old charger is melted or damaged in anyway, it may be an indication of a shorted battery. In the case of a defective battery "burning out" a new charger, Bosch can not replace the charger as it is not a case of a defective
charger. Should your new charger stop working or get hot enough to melt the casing, The Robert Bosch Corporation will require that you return all batteries that you tried to charge as well as the charger itself.
If you would like to test the batteries yourself, you can do so before placing them into the new charger with a volt ohm meter. If your old charger melted or your batteries are older than 1 ½ to 3 years old,our recommendation to you is to purchase a new battery in addition to the new charger to prevent damaging your new charger. This is the policy of the Robert Bosch Corporation. Dixon Industries and Bosch-Power-Tool-Source.com is an independent company.
